* I know this sounds like concern trolling, but every time I see Sarah Palin out in public spouting incoherent word salad, Amy Winehouse's "Rehab" plays in my head and think about her own fans cheering her addiction and egging her on to self destruction. * It was an exhausting day. I stayed up all night for the Doctor. Remember the blood tests they decided I didn't need twice a year so didn't do with my 6 monthlies? I had to go back and get blood drawn again for two of them. Odds are the thing wrong with me for part of April and May needs a meds adjustment and is not a dangerous heart issue, but I am getting 40 monitoring soon anyway. Fun! Ebays mailed out. I came home and spent an hour figuring out why they canacelled my medical benefits. Just like last time, I turned in all the bureaucracy in plenty of time, but they completely misfiled all of it. At least they didn't circular file my documentation without scanning it, which happens sometimes. So that's fixed at the cost of sleep. AVG is refunding my money, but not all the fees their assholery caused. Oh, and my internet was butts tonight, which means everything took two to three times longer than it needed to. ector is still on hunger Strike (eating the bare minimum to not immediately die) and is losing an alarming amount of weight. He is insisting everything I feed him is not food. It is particularly long and scary this time and LM is not helping, what with her coming to bully him whenever I do manage to get him to eat.

* LM used to have a mest on top of a particular living room book case. She has a preference for shredded paper bedding. At some point, I put a cat sized cardboard flat up there and stocked it with tissue paper packing material. For most of a year, this was her favorite mest. It was great! She could root around in the crinkly paper. She could push it up against the sides to make it fit her body. She could use it as a pillow. She had a good strategic view of much of the common area. It smelled pleasantly of catnip and clowder. Bliss! At some point, she topped sleeping there several months ago. I moved it to the Pettin Throne a week or more ago. While she was wary at fist, she soon succumbed to the allure. Mache also discovered it and the took turns sleeping in it. She began to be nervous about whether that was territory she was allowed in, perching next to the box for pettins, poor thing. Today, I came out to discover she'd stolen a tissue box and made a mest on the floor of the living room out of 15-20 tissues. I cleaned up the mest, but put the box over where she made her mest. She immediately curled up in there for a nap. At some point she got up to do cat things. Mache was all, "Hey! Free mest!" and promptly curled up in it. LM wated, and waited, and waited. She went and had a nap on her bookshelf. Mache slept on. She went and glared and Mache. Mache slept on. She came and got a long pet on the Pettin Throne. Mache slept on. I'm going to try putting it on her old spt in the hope she will try napping there, but I may have to find another flat of the right shape and start a new tissue paper mest so both girls can have one.

Fear not, Mache decided to get her pettin on and LM got her box back.

I refused to believe Hector was starving to death. Discovered I needed to get an ingredient from the high shelf. Went to get the step ladder. * Today was very productive. I got the new mailbox key from the landlord, mailed swaps, changed books at the library, got Squirrel his own key, did banking, bought protein, and picked up meds. I even got to flirt with the middle aged Irish guy at the grocery store. I'm pretty sure he's straight as his flirting is more elaborate on days I'm reading as female to others. I am a connoisseur of quality social flirting though and he's really good, making it look like he always means it to everyone who passes through regardless of appearance. It's an art form, and I admire his performance. I even remembered my play date for after dinner. I still have a ton of phone and paper bureaucracy I need to get through, but given how backed up everything was, I feel good about chipping away at it.

* Can we take a moment to contemplate the bravery of teacher Ryan Heber, who stepped between yesterday's shooter and his next intended victim, and with the school counselor, talked the boy down? May I also point out that in this case, words solved the problem without further blood shed, a much better outcome than adding more violence could hope for. Would it work in every situation? No, but I think it's a better answer than firing wildly into a room crowded with panicked teenagers. I'm sorry for the boy who was hurt, but I am very glad things were solved without further injury or loss of life. It could so easly have been so much worse.

* The heat is back, and as a result, today's massive errand run was ugly. Stuff got done, at least. There's a good looking older guy who's often in line near me. I managed to strike up a conversation, but alas not only straight, but very, very Christian. Sigh. I was wearing Greenwick's lovely knotwork trans symbol design tee today, and I got a compliment, so pointed them towards his zazzle store. I don't know how serious she was though. They had new crutches on sale and really I want a new set anyway as I'm down to one rickety one and I've been falling a lot lately, so having two to use on bad days was a good idea, so I did it. I keep hemorrhaging money this month. I need things to stop breaking. Also, I'm still having random health stuff I can't pin down to a specific cause, on top of a stunning amount of pain for a day this warm. BTW, both suckermouths are still tooling around grazing for algae. I remembered to fast for today's bloodwork. I am alread getting meds changes from the last batch of bloodwork.
