gwydion* In real life, women are already in combat in the US military. For example, Tammy Duckworth lost her legs when the enemy shot down her helicopter. The thing is that they are officially banned from combat, so women in combat aren't given are denied the combat related promotions they would otherwise be entitled to. They are already taking the risk; lifting the ban gives them the rewards that go with that risk. The President is expected to lift the ban later today. Finally. It's been a long time coming.

(His military record is first class from what I'm hearing, but I want to know more about his political opinions, mostly because he sounds both moderate and intelligent. That sort of thing catches my attention just generally).

It amazes me to say it, but I think he is legitimately good at it and I was wrong. I just thought I owed y'all that confession.
