* I did get a few hours sleep before the Doctor and was awake enough to be charming and cheerful, which is always important when dealing with Doctors. This, like the bloodwork, was routine monitoring. It takes 20-25 medications a day to keep me even marginally functional. This means my organs need monitoring for signs of deterioration. This means blood levels of various things need checking. On top of that, I have a couple chronic things that periodically need treating. I this case, we need to up dose on something, no big.

On these occasions I generally bring any weird new things my body has been doing, because while usually it's nothing, sometimes it's something. The nice thing about this Doctor is she takes me seriously and trusts me to be a sensible person. It really does feel like being partners in my care instead of the usual adversarial situation where one has to endlessly fight for the basics. We did a screening for something I have a high risk factor on and some subtle early warning signs. It's fine so far, but we're putting a pin in it because we need to take it into account for future medication decisions.

I also mentioned I have another wound on my foot that hasn't healed in a month. Because of the angle I can't examine it properly, but it looks like it could be something. She poked at it and agreed it did. She ended up scraping the nasty bit off on the grounds that if anything was embedded it's gone now and in hopes that a fresh wound bed might heal properly. She was distressed she'd made it bleed rather more than expected. I truthfully reassured her that what she did hurt significantly less than walking on it and that the dressed wound was much more comfortable than pre-treatment. It really is. The gimp from far parking was noticeably improved, though I'm still frankenstiening about from the AS flare.

I really love this Doctor.

Anyway, I went back to bed. I'm still battling the astonishing pain level, but I'm at least better rested.
