This is why I take adulterated products seriously. People could be seriously harmed or literally die from some of these. It's also not cue or funny to sell bad condoms.

* Re: Why everyone, especially LGBT Rights organizations, needs to get behind the NAACP to save the right to vote: It seems like as there are people who are in both communities, it would be nice if everybody in both communities stepped up and got their backs. Especially as the big supposedly LGBT organizations tend to ignore the needs of people of color and Trans folk just generally, even though trans people of color experience a disproportionate level of violence and discrimination on all levels. Now would be a nice time to turn that around. Now would be a good time for everyone who’s experienced discrimination to stand up for the civil and human rights of everyone.

Sorry to keep harping on this. I’m furious and sad all the same time that we are having to fight the question of whether POC have the right to vote all the fuck over again. It’s this sort of thing that makes me ashamed of my country. I believe that voter suppression laws chop the roots of the tree of freedom. Honestly, this scares the shit out of me.

* How much do Ohio republicans hate women? Ohio moves to restrict rape counseling, require forced unnecessary ultrasounds if you want an IUD and some other forms of birth control they are now classing as abortion, ban all abortions after 20 Weeks, etc.? Meanwhile, North Carolina moves to require teachers to lie to students.

Let's all take a moment to contemplate how much you have to hate women to do this.

Remember, we have so much money in the treasury that we can waste it on huge give aways to corporations and we don't need to fairly tax the rich, all of which does nothing to help the economy, but we are punishing young people with a life time of crippling debt for wanting to contribute to our country's future.

* LM used to have a mest on top of a particular living room book case. She has a preference for shredded paper bedding. At some point, I put a cat sized cardboard flat up there and stocked it with tissue paper packing material. For most of a year, this was her favorite mest. It was great! She could root around in the crinkly paper. She could push it up against the sides to make it fit her body. She could use it as a pillow. She had a good strategic view of much of the common area. It smelled pleasantly of catnip and clowder. Bliss! At some point, she topped sleeping there several months ago. I moved it to the Pettin Throne a week or more ago. While she was wary at fist, she soon succumbed to the allure. Mache also discovered it and the took turns sleeping in it. She began to be nervous about whether that was territory she was allowed in, perching next to the box for pettins, poor thing. Today, I came out to discover she'd stolen a tissue box and made a mest on the floor of the living room out of 15-20 tissues. I cleaned up the mest, but put the box over where she made her mest. She immediately curled up in there for a nap. At some point she got up to do cat things. Mache was all, "Hey! Free mest!" and promptly curled up in it. LM wated, and waited, and waited. She went and had a nap on her bookshelf. Mache slept on. She went and glared and Mache. Mache slept on. She came and got a long pet on the Pettin Throne. Mache slept on. I'm going to try putting it on her old spt in the hope she will try napping there, but I may have to find another flat of the right shape and start a new tissue paper mest so both girls can have one.

Fear not, Mache decided to get her pettin on and LM got her box back.

* I was supposed to be saving spoons today, but I failed. Oh did I fail. I meant to sleep in, but Hector decided 7 hours of sleep was all I needed. It has been warming up all week, but today was the first day of real summer. Picture me doing the following in real summer heat with no arthritis meds. I was down to only a couple of arthritis meds, even with rationing. I got them to do an emergency renewal, so had to go out and get those. It infuriates me that $80.00 of arthritis meds are missing. I have on my to keep an eye out for list two cement paving stones so I can garden without sinking into the muddy loam. These are harder to find than expected as I am late enough in the season places have sold out. One of the places to check was next to the pharmacy. Except the remodel moved the garden center from conveniently right by handicapped parking to a long slog through the electronics section that is where garden and housewares used to be. By the time I got to the garden center, it was already more walking than I wanted to do. Of course, the attendant was missing, so I had to search myself. Outside in the heat. With no pain meds and me allergic to the whole of the outside. I had searched most of it before the attendant came back. They were sold out. Then there was the long slog back to my car. Next I went to a different pharmacy where the OTC meds I need to function are cheapest. Handicapped parking was full. I had my eye out for cheap fans as they often have sales there and given we had no Winter at all due to climate change, our apartment banning air conditioners, and our apartment being super well insulated, we need a whole lot more fans. There was a sale. I took two types to experiment with. I had also spotted chairs that while aren't ideal in at least two respects are aesthetically bearable and allowable as outdoor furniture in our lease. I figured since I was already going to have to cover meds and fans, it was worth getting them so I no longer have to drag as many things out with me every time I want to sit on the porch while preventing white cat escapes. Ideally, I'd love a small table I could leave out there too, but it took me a year and a half to find chairs in my price range. I am in funds as I was both planning for il_volpe's visit and for reserving a room for me and ninja_kitten for Orycon. I am likely still okay as long as the repairs I am pretty sure the car needs stay reasonable, but that is next week's problem, after I make the reservations. They helped me get these things into the car. I was already pretty much out of spoons at this point with all that sorting and assembling to do, so brought food home with me. Unloading was a drama. I dragged a chair over to where I sit and brought out a table and had a patio picnic while watching Mache enjoy a little ramble. Next came dragging the fans inside and the other chair onto the patio. I needed to move the planters around, which I did next. Apparently, someone abandoned some small pots with dead plants by my planters. My guess is, they were moving out and thought I could used them. I moved them to the side, as odds are I can use them next fall or next Spring. I unwrapped the chairs, brought in my table, etc.. and sat down with the tools to sort out the fans. One turned out to be super simple an pretty much what I wanted. The other was complicated and not quite what I wanted, but useable. I will need to go back for more bedroom fans or me, clearly, but need to rethink configurations given what's on offer.

* A mod at BPAL, had about half of a "scented home products" circular swap worth of stuff. As I'm needing to liquidate my incense collection because of my lungs. I'm also not doing the Just Tea Swap again until fall. I came Thursday, but I didn't have time to sort it until last night. There isn't much of anything for me in there, but likely someone will love it. I'm going to submit it tonight.

* My incredibly ancient betta died Thursday. The little bugger was more than twice his expected life span and mostly slept when he wasn't eating or sipping air. I am not looking forward to autoklaving in this heat, but it will need doing. Not tonight though.

* Greenwick is kind enough to come Monday for cleaning, which is a huge help given I need to rest up for il_volpe's visit. I have a Doctor appointment and library Monday, and some bureaucracy I need to finish between now and il_volpe, but my schedule is otherwise mostly clear.
