* Can we take a moment to contemplate the bravery of teacher Ryan Heber, who stepped between yesterday's shooter and his next intended victim, and with the school counselor, talked the boy down? May I also point out that in this case, words solved the problem without further blood shed, a much better outcome than adding more violence could hope for. Would it work in every situation? No, but I think it's a better answer than firing wildly into a room crowded with panicked teenagers. I'm sorry for the boy who was hurt, but I am very glad things were solved without further injury or loss of life. It could so easly have been so much worse.
