* Squirrel hadn't seen Livia for a few days and came out from a visit with her impressed by how big she's gotten. It's not obvious in pictures as it's mostly torso length. She really is about as long as Tavy was at 8-9 months even though she's only fivish months. She is currently about an inch shorter than Tavy's adult length not counting tail, though she is skinny and kitten proportioned and very light with it. She really does eat 2-3 times as much as Tavy to fuel all the activity and growth. I promise you we really are feeding her all the kibble she likes and goosh 2-3 times a week.
So far, we've been leaving the door open two Squirrel's room for a few hours most nights. LM growls at Livia, who stares from a polite distance. Mostly, Tavy's been leaving her alone as he's tied up with parenting these days and thus is a lot less intense with LM. Tonight we had goosh time and Tavy, who is not a big goosh fan randomly wanted lots, so they we're each in their feeding stations, which worked really well until LM accidentally ate her bowl over to Tavy, which led to her hissing at him under the mistaken belief that it was his fault somehow. Once he finished, he wanted to stare at her and maybe block her going back to her room, so I scooped him up so she could zip past and locked her in her territory again with the tail end of her portion while Livia had her goosh share.
So one of the 20 tanks is on the thirty stand, which means there is a cat sized shelf from which one might watch fish swim about in that tank. Tavy doesn't fish, as he hates getting his beans wet, so it's basically cat TV. I actually caught the moment Livia got up on the fish watching platform and the exact moment of statement followed by delight on discovering the fish. Being a long cat and reasonably clever, she got up on her hind legs with clear intent to fish, but immediately recognized water and decided cat TV followed by a ledge nap was a much better idea, which is a relief to me.
