* Debunking Paul Ryan's claims about his budget and it's effects. Also, Paul Ryan's stimulus hypocrisy is much deeper than previously thought:

* Pennsylvania has only allocated funds for 1/10th of the registered voters who don't have IDs to get them for free. For everyone else, it's a poll tax. They have said outright that there is no in person voter fraud in the state and that the sole purpose of the law is to hand the state to Romney.

* Leverage: I was always team Hardisen. Until suddenly this season, I'm team Elliott. I've been trying to figure out why. Was it that they are fleshing Elliot out this season whereas a lot of Hardisen's arc is tied up? Maybe a little, but not enough to explain the sudden hard switch. I just got it tonight. I spent years teaching myself not to want what I better not catch. People who are taken are automatically in my RL don't chase category unless they are clearly in an open situation. (Same with people who's orientations can't stretch to me, or people I consider dangerous to my well being). Apparently Hardisen and Parker resolving flipped my attraction switch to off, despite everyone involved being fictional. I don't think that's ever happened before. There's usually a hard line between fictional and non-fictional people, fictional ones normally being available for fantasy regardless. I still find Aldis Hodge attractive and aesthetically pleasing. It's just I've sorted Hardisen into the don't touch category where I also keep TV characters who in real life I would find off limits, or alarming. Nathan Ford is in the alarming category already, just like Sam Winchester over on Supernatural. Elliot sorts as the good kind of broken, like Dean Winchester. Him turning out to be brighter than they give him credit for suddenly makes him more interesting exactly at the same time Hardisen moved into the no category, and I like having someone to ogle even those he's less my physical type than Hardisen.

I always feel better knowing why I do, feel, or think something unexpected. It was once a survival skill, at a time when absolute control of my reactions was crucial. Knowing exactly what was going on in my head was important for prediction and control. I still have a lot of quiet little fail safe stuff going on in my meta thinking flagging anomalies. Of course most of the stuff getting flagged is pretty frivolous like the above these days, as I'm decades away from perfection of response being necessary and most of the stuff that got flagged back then was processed ages ago and finished. Still, it's weirdly comforting to know the security systems are there, humming along smoothy, even when I'm likely never to need them.

I first read that as "Pennsylvania has only allocated fucks for 1/10th of the registered voters..." and thought to myself, "Well, typical PA, they don't give a fuck about important things."

Re Neanderthals and Cromagnon's getting it on: given the human propensity to hump everything in sight, why is this even considered not possible? One of my anthro profs told us about one of her anthro profs when she was in school; he looked like a Neanderthal. Like out of a text book illustration. Hell, she pointed out some Neanderthal features of my skull.

That was such a characteristic typo, that I actually went and double checked. I agree that not giving a fuck about important stuff is very Pennsylvania.

It's more a debate about the DNA legacy carrying forward into modern populations. Interbreeding as opposed to just fucking. There's two other cousins that may be in the modern world gene pool as well. I am personally inclined to buying the inter species fucking and by extension interbreeding, but I also like the idea that they live on in us which counts as a bias. I am not qualified to assess the relative merits of the DNA evidence, so I'm leaving that to the scientist types to battle out.
