* Monday the Imperial couple decided to veto my leaving the bed until ratheer late, so I skipped forage. I did not even manage the rather urgent phone bureaucracy. Instead the cats and I read the rest of "'Tis a Pity She's a Whore" and then watched most of the first half of Yuri on Ice. I did slope out eventually to get some work done. I had settled into bed and was working on trying to fix the emergency fitted sheet, since it's clear the good sheets are failing and one won't be mendable at all soon, when there was an urgent knocking on my bedroom door. I had noticed Squirrel was rather late getting home from work, but had assumed grocery shopping.

It was not grocery shopping. He needed me to go with him to the honest Mechanic, which was opening about then. His car would not be safe without, and best I go with in case of trouble or in case it wasn't the quick fix I hoped. We made it safely and and I was both right and wrong. they temp bodged it for free, but it will need a trip to the body shop ASAP because the bodge won't last. As I'd used nearly half my remaining gas, exhausted or not, I went to the grocery as it was only a few extra blocks. The food was away and I was lying in bed when I remembered the one completely urgent thing I was meant to have bought there. D'oh! I will have to loop back after forage, but I believe I have enough EBT left.

Today's mail was... a lot of mail. 4 1/2 years until the monthly payment that doubled our rate right after we moved in has a hope of being sorted. no rate rise this year, but likely next. The health plan stuff answered about half the burning questions I have. I still need to call and straighten some things out, but it really does look the new plan is better.

Tomorrow I really must forage, which will likely use nearly all the gas. I am helping some friends tomorrow and they will chip in gas for it, but they are poor too, so I may not be able to forage Friday. We'll see how it goes.
